Dr. Nance Yuan is a board-certified, fellowship-trained plastic surgeon specializing in aesthetic, reconstructive, and gender-affirming surgery. A Northern California native, she graduated with highest distinction from the University of California, Berkeley, earned her medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, completed her integrated Plastic Surgery residency at UCLA Medical Center, and pursued advanced fellowship training in Genital Gender-Affirming Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Yuan founded her private practice in Glendale, California, where she offers a comprehensive range of surgical and nonsurgical treatments with a warm, inclusive, and patient-centered approach. Recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2024, she has also been featured in the Emmy-nominated documentary My Transparent Life and TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé. Nance Yuan, MD, FACS is an award-winning, board-certified, and fellowship-trained plastic surgeon in the Los Angeles area with training and experience in all aspects of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, including the full spectrum of gender-affirming procedures. Originally from San Francisco, CA, Dr. Yuan did her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, with a major in Molecular and Cell Biology and a minor in Japanese language. She graduated with Highest Distinction (summa cum laude equivalent). She attended medical school at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and went on to complete integrated Plastic Surgery residency at UCLA Medical Center, followed by a one-year fellowship in Genital Gender-Affirming Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. After training, Dr. Yuan worked with a group practice before eventually establishing her own solo private practice in Glendale, CA, where she performs a wide variety of general plastic and reconstructive surgery, aesthetic surgery, and gender-affirming surgery. She also offers nonsurgical treatments including neuromodulator toxins, fillers, Emsculpt Neo, laser (Lutronic LaseMD Ultra), medical-grade skincare, and more.
Dr. Yuan has been featured as a surgeon in the Emmy-nominated documentary My Transparent Life (2022) and TLC’s hit reality TV show 90 Day Fiance (Season 11). She has been awarded Castle Connolly Top Doctor annually since 2024. Dr. Yuan is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and Japanese and has worked as a certified medical interpreter and translator in these languages. She continues to strengthen the field of plastic surgery through clinical research and teaching.
